At last an affordable modern family sailboat! Topper MD Martin Fry first outlined his vision for a wide-appeal, low cost, mass production family dinghy to designer Ian Howled and designer! builder Rob White. The concept called for a totally modern sailboat that was appealing to all members of a family and was user friendly from day one.

Above all it had to be seriously tough and readily affordable. The Magno represents outstanding value for money retailing for significantly less than the average modern family 14footers. Much of the cost saving has been achieved by utilising the revolutionary hull construction method as pioneered by Topper when producing the hugely successful TOPAZ.

Whether you are a top racer or a newcomer to sailing the Magno allows you to sail at your own pace! Additional built-in buoyancy and a higher freeboard than on competitors designs ensures that four people can enjoy perfect sailing without the boat taking on water over the transom or the bow nosediving.

The Selden gnav system makes for a roomy cockpit area. This clever hull design even allows you to remove the thwart seat from the centre of the cockpit to add even more space.

The Topaz Magno is supplied with built in storage compartments in the cockpit and the transom areas, a user-friendly centreboard and optional trapeze kit and outboard bracket.

The Magno is also perfect for teaching youngsters or beginners. The power source is a modern and easily handled rig and can even be reeled for less experienced crews or in high winds.

The slab reefing main can be reduced or increased dependent on the conditions and crew on the day. The furling jib means you can transform the Magno to an exciting singlehander and you can always keep the single line gennaker under wraps until you are ready to unleash the ultimate adrenalin rush.

The gennaker system is supremely efficient and even young sailors can raise or lower the gennaker on a single line launch as smoothly as the professionals.
